I was going through 1st Corinthians 14:34, and 1st Timothy 2:12. And I thought I would share, and if possible get responses.
Topic: does the bible denounce the place a woman in the church?
Theme: The woman is not to speak or teach in any way that violates her gender role. She is not to occupy the position of a public teacher, in such a capacity as to stand before the church and function as the teacher (or co-teacher) of a group containing adult men. In assuming this official capacity, she has stepped beyond her authorized sphere, and she violates the scripture.
Well, limited to my understanding the bible doesn't literally denounce women from leading in the church. Rather it preaches that we follow order and be modest in all things.
Their silence in the church applies to every other person, a way to discourage disorderliness. And most importantly, distractions via morphological appearance. As this might provoke sexual tension in adult men, and strife in adult women and vice-alike.
1st Corinthians 14:34; and 1st Timothy 2:12 (emphasis added).
If a lady is filled with the Holy spirit like Deborah was -Judges 4 and 5, and would do appropriately and modestly, does she not have a voice?
So long, our teaching is in harmony with what the Apostles taught, and what the spirit ministers (that is JESUS), we all have equal rights to preach and lead. But how can a house stand without the place of an organogram?
N.B: the Holy spirit is not gender bias, and will not preach such. Rather, He preaches structure, respect, orderliness, and love. Remember the gift of the Holy spirit is in Goodness, Righteousness, and Truth -Ephesians 5:9. Not disrespect, and gender-inequality.
So, instead of worry about your sexuality, and its acceptance in the church, dwell more in the Holy ghost and allow Him minister the spirit of the father through the son to you. As our outright goal, is to rule with Jesus Christ at the end of days.
Amen!!!
