You are your Sound

You are your SOUND

Ed note: "Your conviction is to the audience what an habitat is to an animal. They thrive on it." ~ Obajowo Jimmy Michael

As an artist, there is an enormous value placed on your trade, and it is primarily orchestrated for service. Whether you sing, play solo, in a band, or in a community choir, you have been given the responsibility to create an emotional experience, to bond and help others bond.

Your sound is a living spirit and it is a reflection of your character. In it lies the power to create and a gift ravishing to the mind. However, a lot of people have lost the richness of their sound to the pursuit of rewards. Most chase after accolades at the expense of their identity and eventually get lost in the mix.

In recent times, I've been left to imagine what my life would be without quality and effective sound, how I would be able to communicate my heart-impressed-messages to my audience. If they would accept me for who I truly am or ask for more.

A piece of advice, prepare for every presentation, as though your life depends on it. Let your notes, chordal movements, choral parts, riffs and runs, and most importantly, your message inspire at least one person in the audience somehow.

Fine tune your sound and realize that you do it for a reason, whatever your reasons, do it that it might influence someone else. If so, you have done your bit. For your SOUND is for influence and not affluence.
