Encourage Yourself In The Lord

More often than not, the response of an average man to things going wrong is that born out of fear -which eventually leads to inaccurate decisions. People become fearful and seemingly irrational, giving room to the devil to creep-in and whisper terrible ideas -a forerunner for spiritual death.

In a season as this, where every calculated attempt and resources -with the aim to salvage the situation- has failed, it is useless for man to try to salvage what he has no control over. It is however important to drop our intellectual capabilities and mental strength for God's instructions and be willing to obey them.

Therefore, rather than be bedridden with worry, draw strength from the throne of Him who has the whole world in His hands. Recharge your inner man with power and might, and hold on to your conviction of faith.

Finally, though, it might appear the world is turning against you, and nothing seems to be working, know that no matter what happens, your faith-life isn't limited to the circumstances and/or events of this present life, but in the one who is able to do the impossible.

Examples of people who trusted God absolutely regardless of the intensity of their challenges:

Abraham, an old man who had the right in all realities of life to give-up. Biological sciences and time was against him, yet he was wiling to act and encourage himself upon the pedestal of the promises of God. The result of which was "The Father of Nations".

Isaac, an industrious businessman, who at the time of global recession heeded the directives of the Lord and in return reaped a hundred (100) fold. "He gained the wealth of the gentiles".

David, a relentless chaser after the things of God, who came back one morning to the news that his family and properties along with that of his men had been taken away, enquired of the Lord and encouraged himself in the Lord to pursue, and for that He obtained territories yet untapped both in the physical and in the spiritual. "The one King who served as a King and a Priest".

These men of old had one thing in common, the God element. Therefore, in this season rather than be defined by the difficult times, encourage yourself in the Lord and strive to be the best you ever. Do not allow your tragedy change your theology, for who and/or whatever has your attention has control over your life.

Let Go, Let God

Your God or Your Dog ?

"Your God or Your Dog ?"

Often a times we find ourselves overly excited as we race to make a lifelong decision -mostly without the inspiration of God leading our humanly limited understanding- that would either make or mar the rest of our lives ahead.
At this point, we're mostly less bothered about what the spirit says, but we are basked in the euphoria of the moment. Totally forgetting that no human would neither sacrifice their interest for ours, nor love us beyond their limited idea of what love is -the only exception is, if inspired by the word of God and possesses the gift of the Holy Spirit-. Each man is bound to represent his or her interest ahead of any other, it is in our human nature to be selfish.
Human love comes and goes as though it were seasonal, with no regard to feelings and no respect to self.

We often forget about the supremacy of God, and His existence until when hit with problems. Then we remember there is a God who answers all prayer in as much as He is called upon. At this point we turn God -the all knowing- into a Dog -an animal called on for errands, or games- to come proffer solution to the problems we created ourselves. I bet if we were to be in His shoes we would not utter a single word in response.

Solution:- make Him your point of origination. Just as no DNA strand can commence replication without the initiating codon -AUG-, so should you not make any decision without His divine inspiration -even in trivial matters as selecting what costume to wear for an event, and in tedious decision as finding a spouse- for they lead to 'LIGHT' and 'LIFE'.

Set-Time

Let us ask ourselves these questions:

  • Is there a set-time for specific events in life?
  • And if there is, can it be influenced positively or negatively by our human contributions?

John 2:1-4

God works with order, structure, and capacity-building. If you don't grow beyond where you're in your mind, the set-time will not come and you'll be disappointed. Not only that, you would disappoint the world around you.

If you don't have the capacity to handle the sensitive issues, God will not bring them along your way. And it would appear as though your time isn't arrived.
There are certain things that God wants you to do in certain jurisdiction in your life. If you do not develop the capacity necessary to help you make your GIFTS a "ministry", then there is a concrete chance that those gifts will be developed by another and the returns attached to them be taken by such person.

Acts 6:1-7, talked specifically about three things "A problem" "A group of people who deliberated among themselves to proffer solution to the problem " and "a group of seven (7) who had developed themselves ahead of time". This clearly shows how preparation meets opportunity and creates room for an appointment.

The bible as a guild for our lives revealed the most important thing necessary for a successful life. And practical examples to how successful the strategy works.
It is but no doubt that this works, and to arriving in your "appointed time", you need to build capacity and thirst for increment... For even when it was not yet time for Jesus' work, He still did miracles. And this happened not by chance but because he had already gone through the wilderness and overcome diverse temptations.

Get through your wilderness and have your time arrive !!!
