Getting acquainted

Ed Note:

Just as journalism thrives on controversies,  success rests upon the shoulders of consistent and effectual information ~ Michael Obajowo Jimmy.

"I had gone out for the most part of the day,  and on returning I felt exhausted and as though I had gained nothing tangible for the day, therefore a need for refreshing.

I had little or nothing much to do, so I decided to engage some of my friends on some discussion,  and the result, mind blowing".

"Life we all say is beautiful, but truth be told, beauty is only a function of what you make out of life, and a sum total of the knowledge garnered and well appropriated.

Many of us are quite knowledgeable in our own space, but a large percentage of the things we believe to have knowledge in are obsolete,  yet we are oblivious of this fact. Therefore, we wallow and are [more often than none] bewildered on how to navigate our way to the top.

Limited to my understanding, the most inviolable,  infallible, and intangible way of knowing is by having a touch of the minds of people via the instrumentality of reading. The importance of reading can neither be under-estimated nor over-emphasized, for it is as a tool that liberates a man’s heart and sets him in constant motion towards the discovery of new concepts.

However, one cannot stop at reading alone, as there is a need to stay on  the information chain consistently without a break. Therefore, one needs to improve on his technique, for ideas keeps proliferating without bounds. “To be relevant is to hold the keys to mind-blowing information”.

One need to consistently conceive the thought of achieving some feat better than the formal, “as the success of yesterday is usually eclipsed by the complexity of today”.

Finally, I would advice that you use every available platform around, to attach yourself to updated and revised information. Someone once said “the most dangerous set of people are those who make important decisions based on some stale and outdated knowledge”.

Remember, “you can never get it wrong with the right information".

Till next time, I remain Michael Obajowo Jimmy your friendly neighbour.

Me, the journey to 'self'

Every year has been a blessing back-to-back. From birth, through school, defining the borderline between hobby and career, to my first job, falling in, out, and staying in love, and being born-again, what more can one simply ask for.
God has been faithful, and He's taken over a long time ago.

Birth
I find the most intriguing and indescribable part of man's in his or her conception. I mean, how do you explain intra-relationship between the chromosomes, or the stage where both the mother and the child co-exist for a time of say 36-40weeks. That long with no clue of what has really been happening.
My birth, just like every other was indeed beyond science, it is everything and a miracle. A testimony to be precise.

Education
Elementary and high school were the most interesting for me, as I was naive, boisterous, mischievous, yet appeared innocent.
I was one chap with little or no direction, just wanted the good things but was not ready to compromise. Little wonder I was not successful on my first attempt at the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), then the university entrance examination which I wrote for a record of three (3) times, before being finally offered an admission.
At this point, I knew I had to see life from a different angle, and find the charge to do better with life.
Anyway, I am here and working towards my second degree (great shift isn't it?).

Relationship and Heartbreak
I had read quite a number of books on relationship before I finally got into one. I thought that was it, that I understood the terrains, and what could possibly come out of it.
You definitely guessed right, not only did i fail, I lost what was 'most' precious to me at the point.
This left me defenceless for a pretty long while, broken, and  used. I repelled love and its constituent, considering the fact that I offered relational advises and applicable counsels (though from the books).
Note: "Life is far from the books, it is applying the knowledge acquired therein 'Proverbs 13:16'".

My failed relationship didn't hurt me as much as it did those around me (mentors and mentees), there I realised how true the saying "with great power comes greater responsibility".
Anyway, I was able to love again, first by forgiving myself then i asked to be forgiven.
This simple act, led to my award winning article 'I love me' at the Grace Nugget Bible School, and then helped me to love others.
(A blessing-in-disguise you would say!)

(Recommendation: For a better relationship with yourself, friends, spouse, and relative, read ' I Love Me http://jimmymichaelwrites.blogspot.com/2015/07/i-love-me.html by my humble self ' and 'The five love languages by Gary Chapman')

Hobby/Career
I always knew I had flair for life and the science behind it. Little wonder I found myself in one of its disciplines, Genetics.

Defining what my hobbies were was not difficult at all, mom said "i was already singing in the womb" *chuckles*. Plus, i was a lover of the pen and paper as far back as she can remember.

I kind of had this sorted already, though at some point it was pretty confusing to the extent that I was totally clueless as to which to follow. But then, there is nothing a right counsel cannot solve.

"When the sky is not defined, every star would bear a glimpse of the reality. Look carefully, take your time, and seek the right counsel before you take the lead. ~Obajowo Jimmy Michael".

Note: be careful to not mistake your hobby for a career.

Growing up
I was not different from every other kid who was born into a Christian home.
I got to learn the doctrines along with the church mentality. This continued until I felt I had had enough, I needed to know God for me.
As it was disturbing how one could attend all the services that there is to attend, yet feel so empty. The only time I felt filled was at the place of worship, but I never understood how to remain there. So, I needed to go back service-after-service, alter-call after alter-call, yet no difference.

I had taken my life back as much as I had given it, and at a point I just knew I needed a conformational change, then I met  Jesus.
I cannot say that I am perfect judging by my works, but trust me through His right-standing, i am His righteousness on earth.

You can be the same, the very essence of God on earth, shining His light in the darkest places.

Give Him this time your heart, you know He's been knocking for a long while. And in reality, it pays to have the very one man who can bare all the burden without asking for a thing in response.
Reconcile with Him, He's been around since like forever.

Well, thanks for reading through my birthday article, and for the wishes. God bless, and I love you.

wisdom is applicable

Each day we are made increasingly aware of the fact that life is more than science and mathematics, more than history and literature. There is need for another education, without which the substance of secular learning may lead only to destruction. I refer to the education of the heart, of the conscience, of the character, of the spirit—the indefinable aspects of our personalities which determine so
certainly what we are and what we do in our relationships with one another.
-Gordon B. Hinckley

I was surfing through the internet recently, and to be sincere I was left in awe by the level of knowledge exuded by us youths all over the world. The extent of this knowledge is though amazing, yet disturbing.
With this much knowledge available, one would think that the world might as well be near a state of perfection, yet we are constantly made aware of the other side of the coin -of the 'sickness' in the society, the contention and trouble that has brought misery into the lives of millions, of the atrocity perpetuated in our homes, schools, industries, churches and others. Fraud, corruption, sexual perverseness and immorality, jealousy, murder et al., appears to be at their peak with the thought of a univalent solution far away from a reality.

I see a large faction of us bursting with a high level of energy and knowledge, yet no  wisdom at all -the ability to think and act using knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense, and insight.
I stand to say that knowledge (especially head-knowledge) does not 'deliver', for if it does:
•A medical practitioner would not smoke or be on drugs -as by default he knows the deteriorating effect of harmful drugs on health.
•A strategist would go an extra mile to achieve his plan, as plans made without executioning is as good as no plan at all.
•A 'saved' would consciously work-out his salvation, regardless of the truth that "the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has delivered us from the law of sin and death".
The availability of grace does not leave us to continue in sin -far be it.

It is true that the acquisition of facts and information, skills acquired
through experience or education, or the theoretical and practical knowledge of a subject is not enough to guarantee success in a field as the very one that we are in.
Facts, information, skills, and experience amounts to nothing when it is not duly applied and put to intellectual use. "The more the knowledge you apply, the more confident you become in controlling the events of life ~adapted from Francis Bacon".

The solution to our problem is not far fetched, it resides in our ability to 'do' the right thing (I bet you know that I am not talking about Cobham's song featuring Bez). Enough of the fables, deceit, and hypocrisy, it is time we turned from the old ways -that which has produced little over the years- and focus on the truth -God.
Philippians 4:7 speaks of God's 'peace' which surpasses all understanding.
It is of a fact that the world needs Him now, look how far we have gone from the truth. It is high time you, I mean you, returned to God.
Join me, as we make this paradigm shift effective.

Negligence

Negligence

Visited a friend earlier today, and to her it was divine. She had had issues burning in her heart for quite a while and needed to pour it out.
She spoke for hours expressly about issues ranging from her background, religion, education, and her relationship.
I could see a first-hand level of regret in her eyes as she spoke, and how much she wanted to make amendment.

Listening to her, helped show me a whole new world of:
Regret;
Limits;
Love;
Trust; and
Relationship.
I took my time to fully assess her regrets, and discovered that they were not as a result of her ignorance, rather her negligence.

At this point it became evident that most of the challenges we go through in life, are often focused on the aspects of our lives we believe to be good at. And unfortunately, we end-up failing.
This belief satisfies the saying that our being educated does not stop at the level of acquisition of skills, instead it revolves around the application and mastering of such skill in our day-to-day life.

Ignorance is really not a crime, but negligence exuded therein.
A great man once said "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing". That is, each time we fail to execute the right judgement prior to negligence, we automatically open-up a channel which permits negative influences into our lives and sour emotions eventually.

The reason we fail in life is not always  because we failed to plan, but because we embraced negligence at the expense of taking responsibility.
It could be a piece of an advice we refused to harken to, measures we failed to take, sacrifices we failed to render, pointers we failed to observe, and certain hobbies or habits we ought to have broken from but refused to.

My advise, rather than focus on your regrets, limitations, and hate, embrace love, trust and enter into a lasting relationship with yourself. For only then would you understand  the world under your feet and how it works.
